1 new flu outbreak in schools, long-term care facilities
Thursday, the Minnesota Department of Health released its latest influenza activity report.
According to MDH, one new school outbreak was reported this week, bringing the season’s total to four. Additionally, one new outbreak at a long-term care facility was reported, bringing the total this season to five.
No new hospitalizations or deaths related to the flu were reported. A total of five deaths and 36 hospitalizations have been connected to the flu this season, far below past years.
MDH noted flu activity remains unusually low for this time of year both in Minnesota and across the country.
