1 killed after an icy crash causing vehicle to catch fire

The Minnesota State Patrol reported a man had died early Friday morning after getting into a crash that caused his car to catch on fire. 

According to the state patrol, at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, Keith Prescott Crape, 27, was driving a Toyota Camry southbound on highway 218 in Dodge County, when Oscar Agustin Perez Morales, 44, was driving a GMC Acadia northbound on highway 218. 

The two vehicles collided, and after the crash, the Toyota caught on fire.

The state patrol stated the road conditions had ice and snow. 

Crape, of Austin, Minnesota, was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and had died from the incident, according to the state patrol. 

Morales survived, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. 

No alcohol was involved during the incident.
