1 injured in St. Paul shooting, no arrests

A 30-year-old man is suffering from a gunshot wound after a shooting in St. Paul Sunday morning.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, at 6:44 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Hancock on a report of a shooting. Once officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower right side of his abdomen.

St. Paul Fire medics were called to the scene and transported the victim to Regions Hospital, where he was immediately taken to the operating room.

According to police, the victim is in critical condition.

Police said a person who may have witnessed or heard what happened told officers the victim may have been shot during an attempted carjacking, but this preliminary information has not yet been confirmed.

The case is under investigation. There have been no arrests at this time.
