1 injured after jumping from 3rd floor to escape apartment fire in St. Paul

One person was injured after jumping to escape a third-floor apartment building in St. Paul because of a fire.
St. Paul Fire said crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex near Lafayette Road and Otsego Street at about 5:18 p.m. Thursday.
An automatic sprinkler partially extinguished the fire on the third floor, but one occupant jumped from the apartment before fire crews arrived.
The department said that person was taken to a hospital. The extent of that person's injuries is unclear.
The fire is under investigation.
