1 in critical condition after motorcycle crash
A motorcyclist is in critical condition Saturday night after he hit a median in Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 11:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at University Avenue Northeast and 35th Street Northeast.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a motorcycle that appeared to have hit a median and went down. According to officers, witnessed said the cyclist did not want the police notified, but they called anyway.
According to police, there was evidence of drug use on the motorcyclist and the motorcycle was found to be stolen in Minneapolis from several days ago.
The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital where his condition deteriorated. He is in critical condition, but he is stable. The traffic officers obtained a search warrant for a blood draw on the motorcyclist for possible Criminal Vehicular Operation charges.
According to police, drug use appears to be the preliminary factor in the crash.
