1 in critical condition, 2 others injured in north Minneapolis shooting

One person remains in critical condition as two others were injured in a shooting that happened overnight in north Minneapolis.

According to John Elder, Director of Public Information for the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the 2100 Block of West Broadway shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of shots being fired. When police arrived on scene, they noted the scene to be "exceptionally chaotic" with a growing crowd.

Officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to North Memorial Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

Minutes later, a man was dropped off at the listed medical center with a gunshot wound not considered to be life-threatening. Within an hour of the shooting, a woman was dropped off at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park with a gunshot wound. Her injuries are also not considered to be life-threatening.

Police say the suspect or suspects fled before officers arrived at the scene.

The police department executed a search warrant on the building in question and recovered weapons and personal property.

This case remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
