2 injured after boats collide on Lake Minnetonka
Authorities say two people were injured Friday morning after two boats collided in Lake Minnetonka.
It happened shortly before 10 a.m. in Priest Bay.
Orono police, who helped Hennepin County Water Patrol with the response, told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that one of the boats started sinking after the collision.
Crews were able to get the man out of the sinking boat and took him to an ambulance so he could be transported to a hospital for treatment. However, it’s unclear what injuries he had or the extent of them.
Hennepin County officials later said the man and another person suffered minor injuries and were expected to be OK.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but one boater was cited for careless operation.
