1 hospitalized, 1 arrested after shooting in Princeton

One man was arrested and another man was hospitalized after a shooting Thursday afternoon in the city of Princeton.

According to Princeton police, officers were called about a disturbance and a gunshot in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue South just before 1:30 p.m.

Emergency crews responded and found a 49-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police and medics rendered aid until the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. The severity of his injury wasn’t immediately clear.

Police also arrested a 42-year-old man at the scene and booked him at the Mille Lacs County Jail.

The police department says investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there isn’t any threat to the public. Authorities also aren’t looking for any other suspects.

The investigation remains active.
