1 dead after incident at St. Paul recycling center
A fatal incident at a St. Paul recycling center leaves one man dead, according to St. Paul Police spokesperson Steve Linders.
Linders said a preliminary investigation states officers responded to the 300 block of West Como Avenue at about 7:10 a.m. Monday on a report of an accident. The incident happened at a recycling center. Witnesses told authorities the victim was opening the back doors of a truck when someone driving a front-end loader backed into him, pinning him between the front-end loader and the back of a truck.
Officers say preliminary tests from the scene indicate that alcohol does not appear to be a factor, but more analysis is expected to be done.
Minnesota OHSA tells KSTP they will inspect the work area for hazards and try to determine what caused the incident to transpire.
The incident remains under investigation.
