1 dead, 1 critically injured after motorcycle hits vehicle in Coon Rapids

One person is dead and another is recovering from serious injuries after a crash Tuesday night in Coon Rapids involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says emergency personnel responded to the area of Hanson Boulevard Northwest and 129th Lane at around 8:42 p.m.

Authorities believe a motorcycle was headed south on Hanson Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a vehicle that was turning off 129th Lane and onto Hanson Boulevard.

The man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was in critical condition at a hospital Tuesday night.

The crash remains under investigation.
