Valleyfair to open for the season this Friday

Friday will mark the beginning of a new season at Valleyfair.

According to park officials, there will be two new events this year – Monster Jam Thunder Alley and Tricks and Treats – while one food experience was renovated, and there will be two new food buildings.

The Monster Jam Thunder Alley event includes experiencing the trucks that compete in Monster Jam, walking through Thunder Alley and riding in the Monster Jam Freestyle Ride Truck.

Meanwhile, Tricks and Treats is a Halloween event that park officials say is a transformation of the previous Halloween celebration of Halloween Haunt, and add it is all fun and no fright.

Among the events include:

  • Opening weekend (May 20-22)
  • Soak City Opening weekend (May 28-30)
  • Grand Carnivale (June 25-July 10)
  • Fourth of July Fireworks (July 4)
  • Latin Days (July 23-24)
  • Monster Jam Thunder Alley (Aug. 12-Sept. 5)
  • Tricks and Treats (Sept. 30-Oct. 30)

Meanwhile, Valleyfair officials say Coaster Drive-In has been renovated, with new grab-and-go meal options and online ordering with pick-up lockers.

The new food experiences include Superior Bar – which includes cocktails, mocktails and draft beers, as well as snacks such as deep-fried Oreos and deep-fried pickles – as well as SeƱor Vargas, which serves Walking Tacos and desserts such as ice cream and mini donuts.
