End of an era: Artworks Art and Frame in Excelsior closing

It’s the end of an era in the city of Excelsior.
After nearly 50 years in business, Artworks Art and Frame on Water Street is closing.
Owner Terry Hart is retiring and looks forward to spending more time with his children.
“It’s just time to go,” Terry Hart said. “Got a grandchild on the way. I think there’s going to be lots to do, so I’m looking forward to it while I still can.”
Hart lost his wife and co-owner Debbie in a car crash in 2013. A memorial bench in town was dedicated in her memory.

“That was a big blow,” Terry Hart said. “She was always the face of the company and the heart and soul of it. I was just the guy who worked in the back room.
Artworks Art and Frame will close at the end of May.
