Children escape from stolen vehicle in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police say a running vehicle with five children inside was stolen Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday at Lake Street and 12th Avenue South.

Police say the parents left the vehicle running with children ages 1-11 inside.

An adult male jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off with the young passengers still inside.

At 29th Street East and 12th Avenue, the suspect allowed the children to get out of vehicle and kept driving.

The oldest child called his parents on his cell phone and was reunited with his parents.

Police are still looking for the vehicle, which they described as a silver 2007 Honda Odyssey minivan. The Minnesota license plate is XNB-858.

Anyone who spots this vehicle should call 911.
