4 injured after vehicle hits Metro Transit bus

Multiple people were treated for injuries after a passenger vehicle hit a Route 9 bus around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Metro Transit officials say.

The vehicle driver did not yield at an intersection between the Harrison and Sumner-Glenwood neighborhoods in Minneapolis, according to Metro Transit police’s early investigation.

The agency says the bus was eastbound on Glenwood Avenue when it was struck by the vehicle, which was southbound on North Girard Avenue.

One bus passenger was treated at the scene, while the bus driver and two people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Metro Transit says the bus was removed from service because of damages.
