There are a variety of hunting and trapping seasons in Minnesota. Here’s a guide to help you prepare.
Hunting Season Requirements
Purchase a hunting license. Hunters must have a valid hunting license, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Licenses can be purchased at any DNR license agent, online or by calling 888-665-4236.
Understand regulations. Minnesotans planning to participate in hunting and trapping seasons are asked to understand the state’s regulations.
During the Season
CWD testing: The DNR’s Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing will be mandatory for the first weekend in some permit areas, as well as a carcass movement restriction. In addition, there’s a feeding and attractant ban is in effect for Fillmore and Olmsted Counties. More information can be found here.
