State health department reports 10 more flu deaths, including second pediatric death
The Minnesota Department of Health has reported the second pediatric flu death of the season.
According to the weekly flu report from MDH, 58 people have now died this season from flu-related illnesses, which is 10 more than the previous week. The median age of those who have died is 74.
Hospitalizations increased this past week again, with 307 hospitalizations reported across the state, up slightly from the previous week. At least 2,362 people have been hospitalized with flu-related illnesses this season in Minnesota.
Much of the country still reports high flu activity numbers, including Minnesota where the flu is still considered widespread.
