MDH flu report: 1 additional hospitalization reported
In it’s weekly flu report, the Minnesota Department of Public Health reported one additional hospitalization for influenza in the state.
The additional hospitalization brings the total number of hospitalizations for this flu season to 22. A majority of the hospitalizations occurred in the Twin Cities area.
MDH: Flu season continues to be significantly milder than years past; first death reported
Last week, the state reported its first influenza-related death. No new deaths were reported by MDH this week.
Additionally, no further school or long-term-care outbreaks were identified by MDH.
At this time, influenza B is the most common strain found in Minnesota.
