MDH: 1 hospitalization in recent flu report

In its second flu report of the season, the Minnesota Department of Health reported only one additional hospitalization in the last week, bringing the state totals to three hospitalizations, so far.

No flu deaths have been reported, according to MDH.

According to the weekly influenza and respiratory illness activity report, the most common strain early in the season appears to be influenza B.

In its report last week, MDH cited one school outbreak. At this time, there have been no outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

According to the report, Minnesota is at a minimal level of flu activity. Farther south, Iowa is seeing moderate flu activity.
