COVID-19 in Minnesota: 4 new deaths, 54 hospitalizations
Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported four deaths from COVID-19, as well as 54 more hospitalizations.
So far, 1,814 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota, including 1,337 in long-term care and assisted living facilities.
As of Saturday, 313 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 134 were in intensive care. To date, 6,411 patients have needed hospitalization in Minnesota.
According to MDH, there were 1,032 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota Saturday, bringing the state’s total to 74,257 since pandemic record-keeping began.
A total of 66,107 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to MDH.
As of Saturday, approximately 1,460,381 tests have been completed in Minnesota and 1,111,137 people have been tested.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected nearly 24.7 million people worldwide and killed about 838,086.
More than 16.2 million people worldwide have recovered as of Saturday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
