Wisconsin reports 1 COVID-19 death, 1,708 cases

Wisconsin on Saturday reported 1,708 new cases of coronavirus, along with one death from COVID-19.

The state has seen a decrease in its average number of daily cases reported over the last two weeks, posting a decline of 31%, according to Johns Hopkins researchers. The average number of cases reported over the last seven days was 2,390.

However, the positivity rate of tests has increased in recent days. A high positivity rate could be an indication that more people have infections than tests are showing. The Department of Health Services reported Saturday that 21% of people tested had the coronavirus.

To date, Wisconsin has recorded 484,085 cases of COVID-19 and 4,870 deaths. According to data last updated on Tuesday, 47,157 vaccines have been administered out of 156,875 doses shipped to the state.
