US District Court of Minnesota to continue criminal proceedings, grand juries

A court order filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota allows criminal court proceedings through April 16 amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The order was filed Tuesday in federal court. A previous order suspended criminal cases and grand juries.

According to the order, some of those hearings may be held through video conference calls if the facilities are available.

Grand jury proceedings will also continue through April 16.

Court officials said the order will be amended or vacated following April 16.
