U of M requiring students depart from Europe by Friday due to COVID-19 concerns

The University of Minnesota is requiring students studying abroad in Europe return by Friday over concerns of the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the university’s announcement, the mandate for students to return was precipitated by the increased number of canceled flights, which could make it difficult for students to travel back to the U.S. in the near future.

The university said programs in other areas are continuing, with the exception of Level 3 countries.

Programs in China, South Korea and Italy had previously been suspended.
