St. Paul St. Patrick’s Day events canceled due to COVID-19

Visit St. Paul announced Friday that a number of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day events are canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

Those events include the St. Paul St. Patrick’s Day annual parade, LuckyPalooza, Keg ‘O Case and the IMDA Irish Celebrations.

"These decisions are not easy, but nothing is more important than the safety and health of our community, visitors and customers," Terry Mattson, president and CEO of Visit St. Paul, said in a statement.

Other events in St. Paul, including the performances by the Lumineers and Jason Aldean, have been postponed.

The Minnesota Wild has paused its season as well.

"The decision to travel is certainly a personal one," Mattson said in a statement about visitors to the city. "We want people to be informed, and part of that is letting people know that despite the cancelation of large events, St. Paul is open and ready for visitors. We will continue to share our city’s story as a travel destination and recommend visitors follow the recommendations of the CDC and public health officials just as our community has done."
