Spirit Airlines cancels all NY, NJ, CT flights amid CDC travel advisory

Spirit Airlines is suspending all flights to and from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut as coronavirus infections skyrocket in the tri-state area.

The airline said the action is in response to new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines that warn against all non-essential travel to and from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Effective immediately, Spirit is suspending all service to LaGuardia, Newark, Hartford, Niagara Falls and Plattsburgh airports through May 4.

New York has tallied more than 75,795 COVID-19 infections and nearly 1,500 deaths.
