Rent, utility assistance available for Washington County residents

Assistance for Washington County residents who are unable to pay rent, mortgage or utility costs due to job loss from COVID-19 are now able to receive assistance from the county.

The county received $3 million from the federal government through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act.

According to a news release from the county, residents who have experienced a loss of income because of the pandemic may apply for one-time grants of up to $10,000.
