Minnesota company’s online screening software speeds up risk assessment of COVID-19

Those who want to find out their risk level of contracting COVID-19 can do so through a Minneapolis software company called Zipnosis.
Zipnosis CEO Jon Pearce said there are seven questions involved, all from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for assessing a person’s risk of having COVID-19.
"In less than a minute, you’ll be told if you are a low-risk or if you are slightly higher risk," Pearce said. "If you are slightly higher risk, then you visit with a clinician online who then gives you an opinion which could lead to a scheduled test for COVID-19."

Pearce said Zipnosis has partnered with Allina Health and Fairview Health Services.

"All you have to do is visit an Allina or Fairview website, and it is there at no cost to you, and you do not have to worry about having insurance to use the service either," Pearce said.
Pearce said in the past seven days, approximately 150,000 people have used the free, online screening service.
Nearly 75% of the people screened needed further assessment from a clinician. When all data is collected, they’ll know how many of those people tested positive for COVID-19.
