MDH reports 730 new COVID-19 cases, 17 new deaths
Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 730 new positive COVID-19 cases, moving the state total to 20,573 cases.
MDH also reported 17 new deaths. The state’s total is up to 869 total deaths. Of that overall total, 709 have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, according to MDH.
As of Sunday, the state has completed 21,925 tests and private labs have completed 176,039 tests, MDH reported.

According to MDH, 2,588 total cases have required hospitalization. Of that total, 533 remained in the hospital Sunday with 207 in intensive care.
The department reports 14,115 patients no longer need to be isolated. MDH is now reporting that the number of patients who no longer need isolation represents individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who no longer need to self-isolate but no longer includes those who have died.

More than 2.1 million people worldwide are recovering as of Sunday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
