MDH reports 26 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 115
In its daily report Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported there are 26 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 115 cases.
Approximately 3,856 people have been tested in the state so far.
Counties with at least one positive test include: Anoka, Benton, Blue Earth, Carver, Chisago, Clay, Dakota, Filmore, Hennepin, Martin, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Ramsey, Renville, Rice, Scott, Stearns, Waseca, Washington and Wright.
Earlier this week, MDH announced updated guidance for testing due to a national shortage of laboratory testing materials.
According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 246,444 people worldwide and killed about 10,000.
The COVID-19 illness causes mild or moderate symptoms in most people, but severe symptoms are more likely in the elderly or those with existing health problems.
