MDH reports 13 new deaths from COVID-19, 52 hospitalizations
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 13 deaths from COVID-19 on Thursday.
So far, 1,806 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota, including 1,331 in long-term care and assisted living facilities.
The MDH also reported 52 more hospitalizations. As of Thursday, 305 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 139 were in intensive care. To date, 6,326 patients have needed hospitalization in Minnesota.
According to MDH statistics, there were 1,158 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota, bringing the state’s total to 72,390 since the start of the pandemic.
A total of 64,876 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to the MDH.
As of Thursday, approximately 1,427,347 tests have been completed in Minnesota and 1,093,490 people have been tested.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected nearly 24.2 million people worldwide and killed about 826,743.
More than 15.8 million people worldwide have recovered as of Thursday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
Note: According to MDH – "Because all data are preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths."
