MDH: COVID-19 deaths total 57 in Minnesota, 1,336 positive cases

Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 94 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 1,336 reported cases.

Fifty-seven total deaths have also been reported, with seven additional deaths reported Friday.

The department stated, as of Friday, the state has completed 9,185 tests and private labs have completed 24,709 tests, a total of 33,894.

Of the cases in Minnesota, 317 have needed hospitalization, and 143 of those patients are still in the hospital.

According to MDH, 732 patients have recovered from the illness.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 1.6 million people worldwide and killed about 97,000.

More than 365,000 people have recovered as of Friday.
