MDH: 7 new COVID-19 deaths, 31 new hospitalizations

Minnesota health officials on Thursday reported seven more deaths related to COVID-19.

So far 1,745 people have died from COVID-19 in Minnesota, including 1,298 in long-term care or assisted living settings.

The Minnesota Department of Health also reported 31 new hospitalizations. So far, there has been a total of 6,019 hospitalizations, with 309 people currently in the hospital and 148 in intensive care units.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 22.4 million people worldwide and killed about 789,103

More than 14.3 million people worldwide have recovered as of Thursday

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.

Note: According to MDH – "Because all data are preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths."
