MDH: 519 new COVID-19 cases, 5 new deaths in last 48 hours in Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health released updated COVID-19 numbers for the state encompassing the past 48 hours.

The report shows 519 new cases across the state bringing Minnesota’s total positive cases during the pandemic to 38,136. 182 of the new cases came from Hennepin County.

Five more individuals have died due to COVID-19. The five new deaths bring the states total up to 1,471.

All five new deaths were in long-term care facilities. Two of the deaths occurred in Anoka County and one each in Hennepin, Pipestone and Ramsey counties.

Patients in intensive care due to COVID-19 stayed the same at 132; however, total hospitalizations were down 17 from 138 to 121.
