MDH: 44 newly reported COVID-19 deaths, 10,964 newly reported cases

Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported*:

  • 44 newly reported deaths from COVID-19
  • 10,964 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests

*Data posted on Monday represents data as of 4 a.m. on Friday. Monday’s newly reported cases include some that were delayed in getting reported due to a processing error, MDH said.

Additionally, MDH said:

  • 8.84 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
  • 1.8 million third-dose and booster shots have been administered
  • 3.54 million people have completed the vaccine series
  • 72.4% of those 5 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

As of Monday, MDH also reported:

  • 162,831 total breakthrough cases, accounting for 4.85% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans
  • 5,779 total breakthrough hospitalizations, accounting for 0.172% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans
  • 1,177 breakthrough deaths, accounting for 0.035% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
