M Health Fairview tightens restrictions for visitors
Wednesday, M Health Fairview announced new restrictions for those wishing to visit patients in its hospitals and clinics.
The new restrictions come as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Minnesota.
According to the health care system, at this time, visitors are only allowed under special circumstances.
“We understand these measures may be difficult for our patients and families. Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of the people under our care,” M Health Fairview said in a statement.

With the restrictions, patients are asked to work with their care team to find alternative ways to connect with friends and family.
Under the new restrictions, visitors are not allowed for patients with a COVID-19 diagnosis or symptoms. People who are sick or are showing symptoms of COVID-19 also are not allowed to visit patients.
Patients with disabilities are allowed a designated support person or service animal that may accompany them.
The hospital is also not allowing visitors under the age of 18.
