Hennepin County declares a continued local emergency

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners declared a continued local emergency amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to a news release from the county, the declaration allows the county to put its disaster plan into place and provide emergency aid.

Disruptions due to COVID-19 outbreak

Along with the state of emergency, the board also authorized up to $3 million to provide quarantine and isolation spaces for residents who cannot provide their own.

With the declaration, all public-facing services, including libraries, human service centers and licensing services centers will be closed through April 6.
