Gov. Walz signs 2 new executive orders amid COVID-19 pandemic
Gov. Tim Walz announced that he has signed two new executive orders amid the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday.
Executive Order 20-31 exempts septic tank trucks from seasonal load restrictions on Minnesota roads. Due to an increase in teleworking, septic systems across Minnesota have been overwhelmed and seen an increase in septic system service calls. This order will allow septic system service companies receiving a high volume of calls to meet the increased demand.
Executive Order 20-32 will allow the Minnesota Department of Health to suspend certain bed moratoriums to allow for added beds for surge capacity. The order will also allow for the establishment of free-standing alternate care sites.
