Department of Corrections confirms inmate, staff test positive for COVID-19

The Minnesota Department of Corrections announced Monday that an inmate and a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The DOC said the inmate was located at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Moose Lake and the staff member is from the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing.

Both the staff member and inmate are experiencing mild symptoms that do not require hospitalization.

The department said it has followed the Minnesota Department of Health’s guidance for quarantine and the use of personal protective equipment.
