COVID-19 in Wisconsin: Record-high 92 new deaths, 7,090 new cases
Tuesday, Wisconsin health officials announced a new single-day record-high of 92 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 2,741 deaths since the pandemic began. The previous single-day high was 66 deaths on Nov. 10.
Deaths from the coronavirus in Wisconsin hit a new daily high as Gov. Tony Evers released a package of proposals to tackle the surging pandemic and health officials cautioned that even when a vaccine becomes available it will be months before most people receive it. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos also outlined Republican priorities Tuesday, but did not release specifics.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 318 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 14,817.
A total of 323,848 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 7,090 new cases reported Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, DHS reports that 2.34 million people have been tested in the state.
The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by person is at 35.4%.
