COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 52 new deaths, 7,989 new cases

Wednesday, Wisconsin health officials announced there are 52 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 2,793 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) also reported 283 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 15,100.

A total of 331,837 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 7,989 new cases reported Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, DHS reports that more than 2.3 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by person is at 34.7%.
