COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 42 new deaths, 2,712 new cases

Wisconsin health officials on Thursday announced 42 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 5,290 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 99 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 22,804.

A total of 515,982 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 2,712 new cases reported Thursday.

As of Thursday, DHS reports that more than 2.93 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by person is at 27.0%.

DHS said the state has been allocated 607,650 vaccine doses, so far. Of those, 195,152 had been administered as of Thursday.
