COVID-19 in Minnesota: MDH reports 3 new deaths, 24 new hospitalizations
Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported three new deaths from COVID-19, as well as 24 more hospitalizations.
So far, 1,860 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota, including 1,361 in long-term care and assisted living facilities.
As of Monday, 275 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 136 were in intensive care. To date, 6,743 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota.
According to MDH, there were 638 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 81,225 since pandemic record-keeping began.

A total of 73,403 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to MDH.
As of Monday, approximately 1,609,618 tests have been completed in Minnesota and 1,197,675 people have been tested.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 27 million people worldwide and killed about 889,456 people.
About 18.1 million people worldwide have recovered as of Monday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
