2nd phase of Minnesota reopening plan begins Monday

Monday, the second phase of the "Stay Safe MN" plan began.
The plan allows more businesses to slowly reopen with certain restrictions for health and safety in place for COVID-19.
Under the phase, outdoor seating at restaurants and limited capacity of salons and barbershops will be allowed. Restaurants will have to have tables 6 feet apart with a maximum of 50 people at one time. Also, individual parties of no more than four to six people are allowed. Meanwhile, personal care services can open with social distancing and a maximum capacity of 25%.
Campgrounds and charter boat services are also allowed to operate with certain restrictions.
Under the next phase of the plan, which officials have not yet set a date for, capacity businesses will be allowed to increase further.
As of Sunday, nearly 6.2 million cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the world with nearly 1.8 million of those in the U.S. Globally, more than 372,000 people had died from the virus with more than 104,000 deaths in the U.S. Additionally, more than 2.65 million people had recovered from COVID-19 around the world with more than 444,000 of those in the U.S.
In Minnesota, 24,850 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported as of Sunday with 1,040 deaths. The Minnesota Department of Health reports more than 18,695 people no longer need isolation while 3,047 people have required hospitalization. Additionally, 249,519 total tests have been done.
