9 more flu-related deaths in Minnesota, health officials say
Nine more people have died from flu-related illnesses, according to the latest flu activity report from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
A total of 67 people have now died from the flu this season in Minnesota, including two children. The median age of those who died is 74.
Another 366 people were hospitalized with flu-related illnesses last week, bringing the total for the season to 2,817.
School outbreaks continued to trend in the right direction, with just 35 new school outbreaks reported last week, nearly half of the week prior. For the season, 804 school outbreaks have been reported in the state.
The report adds that flu activity remains widespread in Minnesota.
