Minnesota postpones COVID vaccination appointments at some community sites due to shipping delays
With severe weather in parts of the country delaying COVID-19 vaccine shipments, Minnesota is postponing vaccination appointments at some community locations.
The Minnesota Department of Health said appointments at two community sites on Thursday and six on Friday have been postponed due to the delays.
Crippling weather hampers vaccine deliveries, distribution
MDH said it is in close contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and will continue to monitor the situation closely. MDH added that it is also communicating with its provider partners around the state and updating them when new shipping and tracking details are received.
Additional delays in vaccine shipments "could cause significant operational challenges for both the state sites and for other providers," MDH said.
The department said it will stay in close touch with Minnesotans about their appointments and rescheduling them.
