MDH confirms 1st death related to COVID-19

Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed the first death related to COVID-19.
MDH said the death occurred Thursday in Ramsey County. The patient was in their 80s.

“Gwen and I extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones during this time of loss,” Gov. Tim Walz said in a statement. “As COVID-19 continues to spread in Minnesota, we must all do what we can to keep each other safe.”
MDH reported Saturday a total of 137 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.
