Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported three new deaths from COVID-19, as well as 23 more hospitalizations.

So far, 1,922 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota, including 1,398 in long-term care and assisted living facilities.


As of Monday, 233 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 135 were in intensive care. To date, 6,954 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota. The latest report shows COVID-19 daily hospitalizations (non-ICU) have dropped below 100 for the first time since April 13. 

According to MDH, there were 643 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota on Monday, bringing the state's total to 84,949 since pandemic record-keeping began.

A total of 78,238 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to MDH.

As of Monday, approximately 1,724,779 tests have been completed in Minnesota and 1,243,355 people have been tested.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 29 million people worldwide and killed about 924,831 people.

About 19.6 million people worldwide have recovered as of Monday.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.

Note: According to MDH - "Because all data are preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths."
