Ellison files lawsuit against southern Minnesota event center set to host New Year’s Eve party
Wednesday, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced his office has filed a lawsuit against a southern Minnesota event center that has advertised a New Year’s Eve Party.
According to the attorney general’s office, the Carlson Event Center in Winnebago has advertised a holiday celebration set for Thursday night and early Friday morning.

The event center’s advertisement says it will be "a big new year’s dance," and asks attendees to bring their own beer and liquor.
The attorney general’s office says it attempted to reach out to the business but that call and emails were not returned.
Under an executive order issued by Gov. Tim Walz, venues hosting indoor events and entertainment must be temporarily closed through Jan. 10.
