COVID-19 in Minnesota: Total ICU hospitalizations reach 600, 13 additional deaths

Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported there are 528 new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19, creating a total of 11,799 cases in the state.
MDH has also reported 591 total deaths, with 13 additional deaths reported Monday. Of that total, 472 have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, MDH reported.
The department stated, as of Monday, the state has completed 14,951 tests and private labs have completed 100,830 tests. Gov. Tim Walz had stated his goal was to test 5,000 people a day.
Of the total hospitalizations, 452 patients were reported hospitalized Monday. Of those hospitalized, 194 were in the ICU. The total number of ICU hospitalizations in Minnesota, since March 19, reached 600 Monday.
According to MDH, 7,536 patients no longer need to be isolated. MDH is now reporting that the number of patients who no longer need isolation represents individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who no longer need to self-isolate, including those who have died.
According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 4.1 million people worldwide and killed about 283,055.
More than 1.4 million people worldwide have recovered as of Monday.
According to the CDC, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
