Can Can Wonderland lays off staff amid coronavirus pandemic
Can Can Wonderland is shutting down until further notice, it announced on Tuesday.
The St. Paul entertainment venue, known for its mini-golf course designed by local artists, said it would be laying off all leadership, management and staff amid the coronavirus pandemic and Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order mandating the closure of all public places of amusement.
"The simple truth is many businesses in the service industry do not have the economic resources to shut down and wait this out," Can Can Wonderland said in a Facebook post. "Not knowing the length or severity of the COVID-19 outbreak greatly limits a company’s ability to prepare for an economic downturn such as we are now facing."
The business said it hoped to reopen in the future.
