Cam Ward breaks Bernie Kosar’s single-season Miami passing yards and completions records

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Quarterback Cam Ward has passed Bernie Kosar for Miami’s record for passing yards in a season. And later Saturday, Ward threw his 263rd completion for another single-season record. The Heisman Trophy contender already holds the Hurricanes’ single-season record for touchdown passes and is on pace to break the school mark for completion percentage. His 13-yard completion to Damien Martinez with 1:27 left in the second quarter gave him 3,643 yards for the season. Kosar’s marks of 3,642 yards and 262 completions stood for 40 years. Ward now has 3,774 yards on 268 completions this season.
